Is Massage Therapy Right for Me?

Call for more information on how massage therapy or bodywork services might benefit you.

Massage therapy is great for care-givers, physical workers, desk workers, travelers, mothers and everyone in-between.

Massage does not replace the need for medical attention or psychological counseling.  However, physicians often recommend massage to their patients for maintenance of health, prevention of illness and injury, and to aid in the recovery process.

Massage therapy is indicated for a variety of conditions including:

We offer the following types of Massage and Services:

Swedish- One of the most common types of massage. It is used to relax tension, promote blood and lymphatic circulation and an overall sense of well being.

Shiatsu- The Shiatsu practitioner combines palm and finger pressure plus rotation , structural movement and stretching techniques to stimulate the flow of energy. It is very effective for chronic pain and reducing body stress.

Craniosacral- The therapist uses delicate manual techniques to release those problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cord.

Deep Tissue/NMT- Deep tissue and Neuromuscular therapy incorporates various, more specific methods, including trigger point therapy and stretches, to access areas of taut, fibrous muscular tissue in order to release spasms, and nerve entrapment, and reduce pain and postural distortion. The session is individualized depending on the type of conditions being treated and may not include the whole body.

Hot Stone Massage- Hot stones are used as a massage tool and in addition to the massage to provide an extremely relaxing and detoxifying experience. The warm stones are left on your body throughout the massage so the heat can penetrate tight, sore muscles.

Prenatal Massage- During your pregnancy our therapists will use the BodyCushion system in which various sized foam supports are placed under your body to make you more comfortable while lying on the massage table. The session is individualized depending on your specific needs.

Reflexology- Based on the principle that reflexes in the hands and feet correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can alleviate many health problems.

Sports Massage- Provides a circulatory effect of both blood and lymph helping to maintain the muscles and soft tissue in an optimal state of nutrition. Sports massage enables the athlete to recover more rapidly and completely after training and events. It is also beneficial after injuries by reducing the likelihood of chronic problems and possible further injury. Pre- and post event massages available.

Steam Massage- Full body massage followed by personal steam treatment. Beneficial for Weight Loss, Detoxification, Skin Health, Stress Relief, Cellulite Reduction, Joint Pain, Muscle Soreness, Allergies, Asthma, Circulation, Edema, and Immune System.

Thai Massage- Thai massage, also called yoga massage, is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. The therapist will use her hands, knees, legs and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Muscle compression, joint mobilization and acupressure are also used during treatment. This massage helps relieve stiffness, loss of flexibility and balance major muscle groups.

No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed. You are asked to bring or wear comfortable clothing to the massage. Thai massage is done on a padded mat on the floor.
